Your input on the reference tool for Auditing Competence

The GSCP reference tool for Auditing Competence was published end of September 2010.

In order to ensure that the GSCP reference tools constantly reflect existing best practices and represent a wide consensus among stakeholders, all published GSCP tools are to be reviewed on a regular basis. The timeline for review is the following:

- 1st review 1 year after publication
- 2nd review 2 years after that, and
- review every 3 years from that point.

These reviews take the shape of public consultations, typically running for a full year on the GSCP website.

The 1st review of the GSCP reference tool for Auditing Competence is now open and will run until end of December 2011.

We therefore welcome and value constructive comments and suggestions. Your input should help identify best practices and should guarantee the highest level of protection for workers and of environmental practice in the supply chain.

Review Timeline and Process

Feedback Submission Period: November 2010 > December 2011
Review Period: January 2012 > April 2012

The GSCP Expert Working Group on Auditing Competence will thoroughly review and evaluate all completed submissions.
The group will then evaluate and report on the need for revision of the reference tools for Auditing Competence to both the Advisory and Executive Boards. Any approved revisions to the reference tool will then be made available publicly.

All comments and suggestions are welcome and will be valued - we look forward to reading your input!
