Portal for Responsible Supply Chain Management

This Portal provides a menu of useful tools and information, to support practitioners in developing their own approach to Corporate Social Responsibility in the Supply Chain.
It features a set of 'reference materials' such as supplier trainings, codes of conduct and audit related documents. Through the portal, you can access key standards and international initiatives related to human rights, labour, environment, health and safety and ethics. It also includes a 'key topics' section that provides descriptions of some of the key issues in the supply chain with links to further useful information.

International Trade Centre - Trade for Sustainable Development programme

Trade for Sustainable Development (T4SD) is a partnership-based programme to enhance transparency on voluntary standards and increase opportunities for sustainable trade. The main goal of the T4SD programme is to develop a web-based tool - Standards Map- that centralises and disseminates information on voluntary standards and related research papers to strengthen the capacity of producers, exporters and buyers to participate in sustainable production and trade.

•    systematically integrates comprehensive information on these standards;
•    provides research data that complements this information, such as impact assessment, market data, and best practices examples;
•   allows information tailoring through customised front ends addressing users’ specific needs, ensuring direct access to relevant information and intuitive web navigation.

UN Global Compact: workstream on Supply Chain Sustainability

The UN Global Compact Office launched in December 2009 a workstream on the issue of supply chain sustainability. The objective is to produce guidance for Global Compact participants on how to develop more sustainable supply chain practices. The guidance will be generic, and will approach the issue of supply chain sustainability from a holistic perspective encompassing all the four issue areas of the Global Compact (human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption).

As supply chain sustainability is a cross-cutting issue, the strategy and work done on the issue will be coordinated with the strategy and work done on the other issue areas of the Global Compact as well as linked with the Global Compact's issue working groups. Moreover, the production of issue specific guidance will be closely coordinated with the production of the overall guidance produced to ensure that the Global Compact Office communicates a coherent approach and message.
